The acclaimed Robberg Fine Foods Classic Beach Regatta race

If you decide to go through and watch this spectacular event, you will find that things may look calm from the beach. However, a frantic race happens on the water as the boats jockey for position on the start line and then race each other for line honours.

Watch as the boats race around a set of buoys placed in the bay or do a long-haul race from the mouth of the Keurbooms lagoon all the way across to Robberg 5.

Sailors will spend three days competing on the beautiful bay with hobies, darts, nacras, and other beach catamarans.

Visitors are encouraged to go down to Hobie Beach and "meet the fleet" when the boats are on the beach and chat with the friendly and easy-going sailors. Who knows, you may like what they have to say and decide to join in the next event. You don't have to be a champion to take part, you just have to love beach catamaran sailing!
