Climate in the Midlands
Hilton enjoys a moderate climate with warm, wet summers and cooler, dry winters. Summer temperatures can reach the high twenties/low thirties during the day with milder evenings. Winter days are usually sunny but cool and it is not uncommon for homes to have fireplaces to keep everyone warm at night. Winter also brings the possibility of frost and snow making mornings chilly and the breeze blowing off the Drakensberg, fresh!

Schools in Hilton
Hilton is fortunate to be at the centre, and within easy access, of some of the country's best schools. Hilton College, a well-known private school for boys, is a short distance from the centre of the Village, whereas St Anne's Diocesan College is located in Hilton Village itself and a very popular option for girls attending high school. Other schools within Hilton, or a kilometre or two from the centre, include Cowan House, Laddsworth, Hilton-Pre-Primary and Grace College. Easy access via the N3 provides further options of schools in Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands.
