Make sure you choose the correct agent

Category News

Homeowners who are confronted with the situation of having to sell their properties, will often contact a number of estate agents for an interview in order to make a decision which agent to use to sell his or her property.

In a previous newsletter regarding the accurate pricing of a property, it was explained that one should be careful not simply to appoint the agent who has quoted you the highest price, as such a decision could result in the property not being sold, and remaining on the market for an extended time, - only to sell eventually below market value which otherwise could have been achieved much sooner had the property been priced correctly.  How does one then select an agent?

Gerhard van der Linde, Managing Director of Seeff Pretoria East interviewed a number of his agents who excelled in sales performances during 2020, and asked them what assisted them in their achievements.
All the agents agreed that it takes a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment.

Rosa Willers and Annalie van Niekerk believe that first impressions are important, look for an agent who looks the part. Professional appearance and being on time always create a favourable impression.
Lee Cloete agrees with Rosa and Annalie that the agent's ability to listen carefully to the clients needs is important, while the careful preparation that the agent has done for the first meeting can be established by looking at the quality of the presentation that is presented to the seller.

Laurita du Plessis considers it very important that sellers must understand that finding a buyer and concluding a sale is only one small part of the total transaction.  Remaining involved, even after the transaction is concluded and registered and making sure that her clients are completely satisfied are important factors in retaining a good relationship with her clients.  She relies on future business referrals from her clients.

Gregoriee Ngenzebuhoro and Lawrence Ngubeni rely on visibility in their area, and even though many clients have not yet met them in person, they are well known faces in their area. Their availability to their clients at all times set them apart.
Corli van Heerden and Ronel van der Linde add that this business is their passion, a fact that all their colleagues agree with.
If you are looking for a managing agent who will go out of his way to fulfill your needs Johan Scheppel is the agent for you. No job is too big or too small and his meticulous approach makes it a pleasure to work with him.
Rosa Willers prides herself in her professionalism. Her clients don't have to lift a finger since she makes sure that her transactions are smooth sailing. She treats her clients' properties as if it were her own.
Dulcie Oosthuizen's tenacious approach to rentals has made her the most improved agent for two consecutive years. She makes every effort to make a transaction work and will go out of her way at any time of the day to assist her clients.

Look for an agent who is energetic, has confidence and who can demonstrate to you why he or she is the right person to assist you in the sale of your property.  Such an agent will be your partner in the process of selling your house, and will make sure that your expectations are exceeded.
 Welcome to the Seeff Family!
