A new, exclusive 24 erven freehold development, situated within the 430 hectare highly acclaimed Simbithi Eco Estate on the north coast of KwaZulu-Natal, has just been launched.

Eco Estate has not been an easily accessible commodity during the past few years, due to the popularity of this fully developed lifestyle estate. However, by converting a portion of Simbithi that was encompassed within a private family homestead, Beachcroft was born. Adds Johnson, who is also one of the great grandsons of GP Ladlau who purchased Beverley Farm in 1919 from two British officers: “Both my great grandfather and his son Mannie, my grandfather, were dedicated conservationists at heart. In their farming practices they ensured that indigenous trees, wetland areas and riverine vegetation were preserved. When Simbithi was then developed all the residents benefitted from this legacy of conservation, inheriting an estate with large tracts of indigenous forests. This feature was also integral in the initial marketing of Simbithi.
“My grandmother Rosemary Ladlau also shared this passion for flora and over the years she has crafted a magnificent botanic setting within this area. I believe this expansive park-like area today is ‘a window into the past’. Beachcroft provides a well-developed natural environment due to the preservation principles embedded in this land. Upholding this legacy, both in the natural sense as well as the historic aspect, has always been our family’s intention, but with an overall aim of increasing its value by enhancing its best use whilst bringing physical enhancements to the land.
“Taking cognizance of the property’s uniqueness and almost 100-year-old legacy, a measured low-density approach was taken when planning the development.
