A brief history of the area
 
This area, now known as Table View, is the site of one of the first recorded European settlements in South Africa. The settlement was built by the crew of the Nieuwe Haarlem after their ship was sunk off a nearby coast to preserve their recovered cargo. Table View has grown fast since then and in the 1970s, especially with the additions of Flamingo Vlei, Sunridge, West Riding, and Killarney.

Table View is 23,4 km from Cape Town's central business district (CBD), which takes 29 minutes via the N1. Through the N1, you can reach Bellville in 21,6 km (or 28 minutes). The trip to Cape Town International Airport takes about 27 minutes (26,7 km) via the N2.

As for the weather, Table View's average temperature in February reaches 26,1 °C. With an average low temperature of 10,2 °C, August is the coldest month. In a year, there are usually 111 rainy days and 435 mm of rainfall.
