Beaulieu's story has French origins. Beaulieu comes from the French translation of "beautiful." Beaulieu is named after the little town of Beauly, which lies west of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.

2. Beaulieu Bird Sanctuary: The sanctuary is home to a fantastic array of species. There are three bird hides in the sanctuary, each of which promises a unique perspective of many species as they bask in the sun, feed, or build their nests. Several walkways have been established throughout the sanctuary, giving visitors ample opportunity to see the large variety of avian delights.

3. Kyalami Country Club: The country club boasts one of the most beautifully watered golf courses on the Highveld.  The club is known for its superb facilities and its warm and friendly-natured members who welcome visitors gladly for a round of golf.

4. South African Lipizzaners:

Visitors from all over the world visit the majestic South African Lipizzaners, which have, over generations, become an integral part of the country's riding culture and heritage.

Distance to airports, main roads, and the CBD

Beaulieu's prime location within Midrand, Gauteng, means most major travel and business nodes are a 30-minute drive. A drive to the OR Tambo International Airport will take you approximately 33 minutes from the heart of Beaulieu, while a trip to Lanseria Airport will take you 32 minutes. If you're commuting to the Sandton CBD, expect a 28-minute drive, and if you're heading into the center of town ... Johannesburg's CBD, you are looking at a 37-minute drive in average traffic conditions.

Beaulieu's weather patterns are typical of the highveld region of South Africa. Summers are hot, and temperatures reach the mid-thirty-degree Celsius level on the hottest days. Spectacular afternoon thundershowers give way to beautiful African sunsets in the summer months. In the winter months, mornings and evenings are crisp but dry, and the days are of clear skies and sunshine. Winter temperatures can fall to near-zero degrees Celsius.
