Central Beach at a glance

Central Beach, Plettenberg Bay, is the spot for those who love to socialise as well as enjoy ocean based activities. Central Beach is a safe family beach and the most popular of Plettenberg Bay’s four main beaches. Here there are life guards all year round, and also the headquarters of the local NSRI, Nippers club and surf school.

For surfers there are good midsized waves, yet it is not too wild in summer for swimming and body boarding. Central Beach is the launch site for dive charters, marine safaris, ocean kayaking tours and whale and dolphin watching trips (approved and ecologically sensitive). Central Beach fronts the well known Beacon Isle Hotel which sits on a rocky promontory where the rock pools teem with marine life making it a favourite place for snorkelling.

During the summer holidays there are activities such as beach volleyball, paddle boating up the Piesang River, competitions and events.....in particular the Sabrina Love Ocean Challenge.... and daytime events for the famous Plett Matric Rage. You can even enjoy a massage on the beach! On Central Beach your children will never be bored! A little further down Central Beach you can hire hobie cats and jet skis. There is a choice of takeaway kiosks and restaurants adjacent to Central Beach, while any other needs are easily met two kilometres up the hill in Plettenberg Bay CBD.

The popularity of Central Beach makes the adjacent upmarket properties a win/win investment for those who like to let their home to holiday makers in season.
