Claremont is situated six miles south of the CBD, north of Kenilworth, east of Bishopscourt and south of Newlands.
Things to see and do in Claremont
Claremont pretty much has it all. Cavendish Square is a shopper’s paradise. This high-end mall has everything from homeware and clothing stores, a food court, restaurants and a Ster Kinekor cinema. Other popular shopping centres in the area include Palmyra Junction and Stadium on Main which is home to the best comic book store in Cape Town, Reader’s Den, as well as Rush Trampoline Park, Let’s Go Bowling and Laser Quest.
If unwinding is more your thing, Arderne Gardens on the main road is the perfect place for you. It has been named a provincial heritage site and is filled with gorgeous trees and pathways for relaxing walks. It is also a popular destination for wedding photographs on weekends.
Claremont is also popular for its multiple and varied sporting facilities, including the Claremont Tennis Club, Rosmead Sports Ground and the Celtic Harriers Athletics Club.
