HintHunt at The Old Biscuit Mill in Woodstock, is one of Cape Town’s most mind-bending and mysterious tourist attractions. This exhilarating, live, group escape game is an experience not to be missed!
A team of between three and six players are locked in a room with the objective of escaping within 60 minutes by solving a number of code-cracking and riddle-solving puzzles with a number of cryptic clues and hints to help you along the way.
“It’s like Big Brother meets CSI,” explains co-owner Stephen Schutte. “It’s about bringing people together and creating a completely abstract and unique experience. People come out feeling like they’ve been on a rollercoaster ride. They’re energised, and the adrenaline is flowing.”
HintHunt features six rooms; two detective-themed John Monroe Offices, two Japanese-inspired Zen rooms and two Submarine rooms.

The price of games range between R200 – R300 per person and depend on which challenge you decide to do. Bookings are essential. To make a reservation, visit HintHunt’s website and click through to the online booking system. There are also gift vouchers available.
The large HintHunt space is also available as a conference facility for end-of-year office parties or team building events and can host up to 100 people. There is a business lounge and bar area that includes free Wi-fi, an HD projector and screen. HintHunt offers life coaching sessions, cheese and wine tastings, on-site catering as well as team-inspired games that can be tailor-made to suit your office’s specific needs and budget. The space can also be hired out for other special occasions such as birthday parties.
