Jan Smuts House Museum

Get a look into the fascinating life of Jan Smuts. One of South Africa's most well-known figures, he played a prominent role in its history as a soldier, statesman and philosopher. A tour will show you his home, car, library and the hiking trail he frequented.

Irene Farm

You don't have to travel far for a rural retreat. Irene Farm is a fully-fledged dairy farm just 11 minutes from the city centre. Visitors and residences are always welcome to indulge in the farm milk, cold meats, homemade jams and pickles. After you've browsed the farm shop, stop for a delicious lunch at the restaurant. The play area will keep children amused while you enjoy the fresh farm air.

South African Mint

Money talks and the stories they tell will leave you enthralled. Visit the Coin World at the South Africa Mint for a tour of some of the country's rarest coins. You can even strike your own coin on one of the world's oldest working mint presses. If you're in the mood to treat yourself, there are collector coins, limited edition medallion watches and other exciting collectors' items at bargain prices.
