The menu at Ragamuffin Curry is divided into two sections. One that includes traditional, beloved dishes such as butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, beef curry, kadai mutton, butter dahl and red-lentil curry. The other includes interesting Ragamuffin specialties such as Margate braaied-chicken curry, pork-and-mango curry, Indian fried-chicken wraps, Indian fried wings and Hodge Podge, to name a few. The Hodge Podge is a firm favourite among vegetarians and includes falafels, potatoes, eggs, atchari curry, raita, sambal, chutney and crispy wonton wrappers, all served with a roti.
The desserts range in price from R15 to R35 and include a chai-spiced malva pudding with ice cream and burnt marshmallow; coffee cardamom date squares; and Pearl's sorbet which is available in takeaway tubs.
The cosy ambience in this tiny 20 seater restaurant is enhanced by the carefully selected furniture, decor and art as well as the sounds and mouthwatering scents coming from the open-plan kitchen.
Be prepared to book if you decide to visit Ragamuffin on the ever popular Bunny Chow Tuesdays.
They do not sell alcohol but you are welcome to bring your own. There is no corkage fee.
