Bel'Aire residential estate in Somerset West one of the favourites in town, says Seeff

Category News

Somerset West is a popular place to reside in for many reasons. Not only is this town located in the heart of the winelands which affords it with a charming country appeal, but it is also close to every activity and amenity imaginable while only being 40 minutes’ drive from Cape Town.

Rosmarie Bell, a real estate agent for Seeff Somerset West says that the town offers a broad range of property and real estate to the discerning buyer ranging from houses, cluster developments, sectional title, coastal properties and holiday accommodation, but it is the estates (including golf, wine and country estates) that are especially sought after because of the security appeal, family friendly environment and lock-up and go lifestyle they offer.

Bell continues that one of the most desirable estates in Somerset West is the Bel’Aire Winelands Estate and while this estate is certainly upmarket, many price tags here are not as extravagant as in some of the other estates making it more attainable to most high end buyers.

“All 253 of the erven here are spacious enough for residents to enjoy their privacy, but the vibe is nonetheless a friendly one boasting a close knit community consisting of anyone from young professionals to families and retirees”.

Bel’Aire has often been described as having one of the best views in the greater Cape Town metropolitan and on a clear day you can see as far as the Boland vineyards, Strand and the False Bay coastline.

Plot sizes in the estate range from 500m2 to 3500 m2 and the average selling price in the past year or so was around the R5.8 million mark. Occasionally homes at entry level prices of around R4.5 million become available although these are few and far between and homes in excess of R10 million are also to be found.

It is also worth noting that over 40% of owners in the estate have owned their property for 11 years or more and this can only be ascribed to Somerset West’s and this estate in particular’s popularity.

At the moment Seeff is marketing an exquisite home in an exclusive position in Bel’Aire with three bedrooms and three bathrooms for R8.5 million.

The home is tucked away in a tranquil and treed elevated garden and provides the perfect setting for luxurious and secure living with astonishing views from all levels.

“While the home is classic and elegant it also offers every modern convenience combined with all the luxury finishes imaginable. Accommodation consists of three en-suite bedrooms with the two upstairs bedrooms leading out to balconies.”

The spacious living areas flow onto a pool patio complete with lapa and established garden ideal for lavish entertaining and relaxed poolside living and a separate formal lounge features a fireplace. The fully fitted kitchen with separate scullery opens up to a lovely breakfast room and a secluded and charming private garden.
