Solridge is in close proximity to Bryanston, which has an excellent private school system that is ranked as the best in Gauteng. Some of the schools available in the area include Bryanston Primary School, an English-medium, co-educational primary school with a focus on excellence, as well as Bryanston High School, a co-ed school that provides an outstanding academic, sporting, cultural, and social education for the students. There is also Bryanston United Nursery School, Infinity College, Bryandale Pre-Primary and Primary School, Bryaneven, and Bryanston Parallel Medium. The St. Stithians group of private schools is in Bryanston, as is Brescia House private school for girls.

Residents of Solridge do not have to worry about finding great medical services for themselves and their families, as there are a number of healthcare facilities in the neighboring suburb. Johannesburg weather is some of the best in the world. The Highveld, the region that includes Johannesburg, has a milder climate than the subtropical climate of the Lowveld, where the heat can be extreme. Although near the Tropic of Capricorn, the Highveld is cooler because it's positioned on a high-lying plateau in the South African interior. Summer temperatures reach as high as 34 degrees Celsius, while winter temperatures fall to 3 or 4 degrees Celsius on colder days.
