Pretoria was founded in 1855. The travelling time from Pretoria to OR Tambo International Airport is approximately 43 minutes (51,8 km) via the R21. Travelling to Lanseria Airport will take you approximately 50 minutes (59,8 km) via Ben Schoeman Freeway or the N1/N14. These times are dependent on traffic. 

Climate 

The subtropical climate of Pretoria works well to serve the city's lush parks and growing gardens. With temperatures soaring to highs of 34°C during summer months, the city handles its heat with ease. The dryness of Gauteng can mostly be felt during winter months when temperatures drop to between 4°C-20°C.
