Germiston, also known as kwaDukathole, is a small city in the East Rand region of Gauteng, South Africa. The area offers a family-friendly appeal with lush greenery and beautiful surroundings. A brief history of the area
Germiston lies in the heart of the Rand goldfields and was founded in 1886 after the local discovery of gold. In 1921, the world's largest gold refinery, the Rand Refinery, was established in Germiston. Germiston officially became a town in 1903 and then a city in 1950.

O.R Tambo International Airport is a 19-minute drive (21,3 km) from Germiston via the R24. Germiston residents looking to reach Johannesburg CBD can do so in 18 minutes (14,5 km) via the Francois Oberholzer Freeway.
