A brief history of the area

The valley in which Llandudno is found was declared a township in 1903, and was named after a seaside resort by the same name in Wales. The name means "Parish of Saint Tudno" in Welsh. The name was chosen due to the remarkable physical and geographical similarities between the two areas.

Llandudno enjoys warm summers and temperate winters, with most of the area's rainfall taking place in the winter months. The hottest months of the year are January and February, during which the temperature on a typical day rises to a maximum of 29°C. The coldest months are between June and August, when the mercury rises to an average of 20°C. During summer, temperatures at night drop to an average minimum of 17°C, while on a winters night, it can be as chilly as 11°C.
