Alberton is a historical town located in the East Rand of Johannesburg. Known as a typical 'bedroom community', which means that it's predominantly residential, Alberton is a great location for families to reside. Although Alberton was established in 1904, it was only proclaimed a township in 1909. The first official post office was built in 1926 and all the street names in Alberton have been named after Voortrekker heroes. The town celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2005.

Alberton is approximately 18.4 km (16 minutes) away from OR Tambo Airport and roughly 11 km (10 minutes) from Johannesburg CBD.
