Pinetown is a larger area that is part of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, inland from Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. The area is laced with greenery which provides beautiful surroundings to all its residents. Pinetown hosts various types of homes that are suitable for couples, families and investors. A brief history of the area Pinetown is rich in history and began in 1850 when it was named after the governor of Natal, Sir Benjamin Pine. During the Second Boer War, the British built a concentration camp in Pinetown to house Boer women and children.
