It has a commanding view of the Langeberg Mountains to the south complemented
by the Rooiberge to the north, yet well protected against the elements from the east
and west. It lends itself to total privacy and private access to spectacular 360° views
and several valleys to explore on the farm. Or simply relax in peace and quiet
surrounded by the Little Karoo environment, centuries old ghwarriebos (euclea
undulata) and karooboerboon (scotia afra), cape aloe (aloe ferox) up to 3 metres
high and coral aloe (aloe stratia) in typical Little Karoo fynbos. It forms part of the
Succulent Karoo Biome which is identified as one of South Africa’s three biodiversity
hotspots. South Africa’s Succulent Karoo is home to the richest diversity of succulent
plant species on earth.

The farm is about 224 Ha and one of 28 farms within De Mistplek
Ranch development comprising 4 580 Ha. Every owner has access to the entire
Ranch, except for the exclusive use area of 2 Ha per farm. The Groot River runs through this property.

De Mistplek Ranch is a serene and peaceful enclave, next to the Groot River nestled
between the Langeberg and Rooiberg mountain ranges.

De Mistplek Ranch is fully fenced with 2.4 m game fencing, with 2 main access
gates, ensuring that game such as eland, kudu, gemsbok, springbok, steenbok,
klipspringer and wild ostrich roam freely, creating a true Karoo atmosphere. Hunting
is not allowed, but organised culling will take place from time to time. Birds, including
sunbirds frequenting the aloes when they are in full bloom, pale chanting goshawks
and other raptors, are aplenty. The owner has no day-to-day responsibilities other than being there, enjoying the
serene surroundings.

De Mistplek Ranch offers vast hiking and mountain biking opportunities, and may be
developed on the farm as well.

Ample water is supplied from a communal borehole to large reservoirs on De
Mistplek Ranch. Water allocation is 30 000 l/month/farm. Existing roads allow access to all the farms on the Ranch.
There are a new build house (84 m²) and a flat (24 m²) with solar power and a gas geyser on the farm. A 10 000 l water tank is used to store harvested rainwater. The owner is allowed 2 ha for exclusive use on the farm. Delineating the exclusive use area carefully will ensure privacy.
There are basic rules of conduct enforced by De Mistplek Ranch Farm Owners Association to ensure peace and harmony for and among owners and the protection of the environment.

Levies are R6 000 per year / R500 per month. Rates and taxes are about R62/
month.

The Ranch is situated about 10 km from Vanwyksdorp, about 30 minutes from town.
There is an airstrip practically adjacent to De Mistplek Ranch.
