Description The property is located approximately 40kms southwest from Ladismith and 56kms northeast from Barrydale. The property has the Touws river crossing from a east to west direction and is bordered by the Touwsberg Nature and Private Game Reserve to the north. The property can be accessed via the R62 which leads to the Plathuis gravel road and is located approximately 5kms east on the gravel road. The property is an agricultural property that is used for grazing. The farm is irregular in shape and has 6 boundaries as well as river running through the farm towards. The topography is generally sloping with the exception for the area alongside the river which is generally level and allows for cultivation. Brownish sand-like soil is the predominate type of soil through out the farm. The farm lies adjacent to the Touwsberg Conservation area and is considered ideal for live stock farming and grazing. Drainage is considered above average. The improvements consist of residential dwelling for the farm manager and astaff, storage facilites as well as feeding sheds. Site improvements such as access gates, fencing, paved areas, windmills, boreholes, constructed dams and water storage tanks. Based on empirical evidence average rainfall for the greater Ladismith RD area equates to approximately 300mm per year with rainfall occurring throughout the year.
Infrastructure and Services Water is sourced via the Touws River and boreholes one being equipped with pump and is sotored stored via a corrugated iron and cement dam as well as plastic storage tanks. There are surface irrigations systems covering approximately 180 hectares, as well as Eskom supplied electricity connection. Fencing is typical game fencing approximate 2.4m in height and is jackal proof, however not electrified. The condition of the fencing is considered to be average and subject to ongoing maintenance to maintain its functionality.
General The area is dominated by mixed farming (live stock and crop) activities on various size farms. The Touwsberg Game reserve neighbours the property to the east.
