Welcome to Hillside Farms, this top commercial farming concern, consists of 3 farms, each held in a company and duly registered as such. The farms border each other and are conveniently situated next to the R43 a mere 10 km. from Worcester and 5 kilometers from N1.

One of the farms (Weltevrede) is a broiler raising production unit with 12 broiler chicken houses. A new, transferable production contract with RCL, for a additional term for 10 years, signed on 1 December 2022. The Broiler production consist of 8 cycles per year with 500 000 broilers per cycle and has be up and running for 20 years. The broiler raising production unit offers a brand new, fully automated, German engineered heating system that burns wood chips to produce the necessary heat for raising the flock. This system was put in place at a cost of R9.5m to reduce the energy cost of the intensive Boiler production unit. The farm produce ±6400 ton (live mass) per year.

The farm (Kleinbegin) has a sheep herd of 1250 ewes which is kept on 40 hectares of irrigated paddocks on a rotational basis for the breeding herd and a feedlot for growing the lambs from wean to slaughter There is also an additional 20 hectares with no irrigation where winter pastures are produced for hay production. There is also a fodder room with a capacity of 3 tons of germinated Barley, hydroponically grown over 6 days, are produced per day. This "seedlings" are mainly used to acclimatized the ewes from grazing to full feed - pre lambing period - and back to grazing - after weaning.

Hillside farm has a fetch roofed Venue that can host 200 guests with ease. It boasts ± 12 hectare of irrigated (part of the 40 hectares) pastures. This farm also has the lambing facilities with 120 lambing pens on a concrete floor with roof. There is also roofed sheds to house the ewes, in their groups from 6 weeks before lamb to ±14 days after lambing, when they are moved, with their lambs to the feedlot until the lambs are weaned.

The farms are part of a water scheme and has 7 holding dams across the properties with total water storage ability of ±350 000 m3. The three separate title deeds has 700 000 m3 water allocation, per year, from the scheme. Taking the water rights into account the farms offers several other income opportunities be it vegetables, Blueberries or Fruit.
