Looking for a business or tourism opportunity on the popular West Coast? Well, you are spoiled for choice as the landmark Vygevallei Padstal business is on the market for R1.06 million.

The business has featured on the popular Eat Out website and is regularly included in tourism articles as a stop-over not to miss when travelling to the West Coast. It is located just off the R27 opposite the Jakkalsfontein entrance on the way to Langebaan, says Jeanette Smith from Seeff West Coast who is marketing the property.

It is a lucrative business consisting of a restaurant, coffee shop, gift shop and wine house. A two-year rental agreement is in place and can be transferred to the new owner. Food- and wine licenses are part of the package.

The property includes a farm stall and restaurant as well as a wine house. The ‘Vygevallei’ name is derived from the wild sour figs of the area. The business is housed in gorgeous West Coast/Swartland country vernacular styled buildings, fully fitted and equipped.

The restaurant has full kitchen facilities and features white-washed tables and chairs, a dresser and a series of quaint old photos and décor. It serves lovely home-made meals and there is a big selection of eats and treats to take away as padkos. There are also outdoor eating areas with umbrellas.

The shop stocks a variety of sought-after local goods including Swartland Gourmet Preserves, fresh farm bread and a variety of gifts.

The Vygevallei Wine Shop represents 30 wine cellars and stocks 280 wines including local varieties such as Saronsberg, Groote Post and Darling Cellars.

The West Coast is a popular tourist destination, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Areas such as Yzerfontein, Langebaan and Paternoster are popular weekend getaways for Capetonians and other residents from the Cape regions.

The Vygevallei Padstal is about a 50-minute drive from the Blouberg area, 45-minutes from Malmesbury and close to Yzerfontein and Darling. It is about a half-hour from Langebaan and also easily accessible from Saldanha and Vredenburg.
