School of Rock in Claremont is an empowering international music academy where raw musical talent is groomed and developed.
School of Rock is the global leader in performance-based music education and their mission is to inspire the world to rock on stage and in life. The school in Cape Town is the first in Africa. The school develops confidence and musicianship in students of all ages and skill levels.
Their programmes include Little Wing, Band Coaching, Rookies (6 – 7 year olds), Rock 101 (8 – 10 year olds), Performance Programme (for 11 – 18 year olds) and the Adult Performance Programme (for 19+ years olds). Students are taught musical theory; learn how to play and sing rock songs on instruments such as guitar, bass, keys, brass and drums; take part in weekly group rehearsals and lessons about how to perform; and have weekly private music lessons. Students also perform in concerts on stages around the city.
School of Rock hosts holiday camps, workshops, rock & roll birthday parties, corporate team building sessions and corporate gigs with bands to hire.
