Retail therapy opportunities in and around Blouberg

Category News

If there's one thing you'll notice about Bloubergstrand and its surrounding areas  - over and above the stunning white-sand beaches - it's the abundance of shopping centres around. Whenever you're feeling the need to shop until you drop, Blouberg is a great place to head to. Seeff has put together a list of four of the best-loved shopping centres in Blouberg.

Community spirit at Bayside Mall

Bayside Mall is conveniently situated at the corner of West Coast Road and Blaauwberg Road and offers not just a wide array of stores, but also an array of community-focused events. For example, for Mandela Day 2022, the mall hosted the South African Guide Dogs Association for the Blind, giving visitors the chance to meet a guide dog and ask questions about how they can get involved in the programme. They also invited community medics to spend Mandela Day at the centre, providing blood pressure checks and CPR training.

Another thing we love about this centre is the wide range of tenants (think everything from arts and sporting goods to groceries and home décor). A final reason to add a trip to Bayside Mall to your to-do list is that there's a recycling service at the back of the mall.

Shop in beautiful surroundings at Seaside Village Shopping Centre

The name "Seaside Village" brings to mind a peaceful, tranquil ambience, and this shopping centre does not disappoint. More than 30 stores are laid out in a split-level design around a fantastic kids' play area. If you enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants on Seaside Village Shopping Centre's upper level, you'll also get to enjoy spectacular views of Blouberg's beaches and the kitesurfers enjoying the water.

Many locals describe this centre - located in Big Bay, Blouberg - as "convenience at its best" and it's hardly surprising since the centre is close to home for Blouberg residents and offers free undercover parking and a car wash facility. Seaside Village meets an array of local's needs, with tenants including the likes of Checkers, Checkers Liquor and Woolworths Food. There's also a laundry and dry cleaners, as well as a post office.

Convenience is a way of life at Flamingo Square

With an array of stores that lend themselves to convenience, such as Clicks, Woolworths Food and Table View KwikSPAR, Flamingo Square's claim that the centre "makes convenience a way of life" rings true. Both KwikSPAR and Woolies are open until 9pm seven days a week (including public holidays) which makes after-work shopping a breeze. This is also a spot where you can pamper yourself with a manicure or a haircut. To add to the convenience brought to Blouberg and Tableview residents courtesy of Flamingo Square, the centre is home to a varied list of tenants that includes an optometrist, a wellness store, a barbershop and pet supply stores.

Variety awaits at Table View Centre

Having been relied upon by residents of Table View and Blouberg since the 1980s, Tableview Shopping Centre boasts ample free parking and an impressive list of anchor tenants that includes Pick n Pay, Woolworths Food and Dis-Chem. There are also ample places at which visitors can get a bite to eat, and the wide range of tenants enables you to stock up on everything from stationery and surf apparel to phones and appliances. Tableview Shopping Centre promises a one-stop shopping experience - and it certainly delivers.

There are so many great reasons to make Blouberg your home. From its sophisticated shopping centres to its gorgeous beaches and array of well-loved restaurants, there's always something to see or do. Contact Seeff for assistance with buying or renting property in Blouberg.
