Members of the Greater Lynfrae Civic Association are inviting the community (Claremont, Rondebosch and Newlands) to a gathering at Keurboom Park on Saturday, 10 March 2018. The event will run from 10am to 2pm with plenty to see and do for both adults and children. The gathering will be a great way to meet and interact with community members and to spend some time with friends and family. Bring a picnic along and enjoy some of the tasty snacks that will be on sale. The kids can run around and play on the jumping castle, and there will be face painting activities as well. Junior and senior entrepreneurs will have a chance to sell and showcase their homemade goods and products. Kids are invited to set up lemonade stands and tuck shops at no cost, while adults can share their water-saving inventions and tips at a cost of R50 per stand. This money will go to the Friends of Keurboom Park as a donation to keep the outdoor space maintained in these difficult times. To book a stand, email Leanne van Rensburg at ljvrct@gmail.com with your name, address, contact details and a description of what you will be selling. The organisers have planned a Water Table to showcase useful tips and gadgets that save water. Learn how to harvest rainwater from your roof or how to sterilise water from boreholes to make it safe for consumption; ideas such as these will benefit the community and the water saving efforts of individuals. Pet adoption services will be at the gathering with some of their furry family members that will be looking for new homes. From playful puppies to wise old dogs, Plum Pets will have the perfect fit for your family.
