Four things to love about Cut Craft Bistro

Category Area Focus

When you're exploring the Johannesburg area of Kensington, or considering making your home here, one of the fun things to think about is where you could eat out. Kensington offers an array of great restaurants - and one of our favourites is Cut Craft Bistro. Here are the top four reasons why we love it.

1.       The best breakfasts, burgers and steaks in town

In the opinion of many Joburg residents, you simply can't get a better meal than at Cut Craft Bistro - and if you take a quick look at the menu, it's not hard to see why. The breakfast menu ranges from traditional favourites like the "Op die Plaas" breakfast, with eggs, bacon, boerie with chakalaka, fries and toast. Those looking for something on the healthier side can choose "The Healthy Homey", which consists of smashed avo and grilled halloumi served with rye toast, tomato salsa and arugula. If you're looking for a treat, look no further than the flapjack stack, which is decadently layered with cinnamon and fresh cream and topped with coconut, pan-seared almonds and maple syrup.

If you're in the mood for a burger, look no further. For those who believe in no-fuss burgers, the Burgatory offers 200g of pure beef. If you feel like something with some added extras, you can go for The Big Cheese or The Bomb, which blends Burgatory with the scrumptious blend of bacon, camembert and creamy pepper sauce.

When it comes to steaks, the stakes are high and Cut Craft Bistro has the art of steak-sizzling down to a fine art. Choose from fillet, rump, sirloin and rib-eye and you'll get to decide if you want it plain, basted or pepper crusted.

2.       It's an office away from home

In the age of the "work from home" revolution, sometimes you might not feel like working from home. Whether there's construction going on in your neighbourhood or if you just need a change of scenery, Cut Craft Bistro is waiting to host you for a productive work day. If you're trying to weigh up which restaurant to make your office for the day, you should know that cut Craft Bistro offers bottomless ginger beer all day every day. There are plug points available to keep you powered up through the day.

3.       Spectacular specials

If you follow Cut Craft Bistro on Instagram, you'll see that there are regularly advertised specials that will tantalise your taste buds. For example, on "Steakout Sundays", you'll get a free glass of house wine or a 330ml draught when you buy any AAA grade meat cut. Another much-loved Cut Craft Bistro special is the 2 Twos Tuesday, when you can buy any two burgers or pizzas and get a third one free. You are invited to end off your week the relaxing way with half-price cocktails from 2pm to 7pm on Fridays!

4.       Steampunk culture

If you haven't yet been introduced to the wonderful world of steampunk culture, you're missing out. Defined online as "history and fantasy colliding with technology", steampunk culture is an aesthetic and narrative based on 19th century machinery.  Cut Craft Bistro is a great place to come and experience this, with furniture, fixtures and décor all in line with the steam punk theme.

Over and above Cut Craft Bistro and other great restaurants in the area (check out Pastelaria Princesa, Kensington has much to offer its residents. If you'd like to know more about making this area of Johannesburg your home, contact Seeff today.
