Explore the city of Cape Town with Up Cycles

Category Area Focus

Cape Town's first drop-and-go bike rental company, Up Cycles, is situated at the Sea Point Pavillion on the Promenade. Up Cycles allows you to enjoy a gentle and relaxing ride along the Atlantic Seaboard while taking in the beautiful views and vibrant surroundings. The great thing about the drop-and-go process is you don't have to return all the way to the office after your ride.

There are multiple stations where you can rent a bike or drop it off along the way. Starting at the Sea Point station, you can ride along the coast to Camps Bay, drop your bike off, and enjoy a day on the beach or grab a meal and drink at one of the many bars and Camps Bay restaurants.

In the other direction, you can ride along the Sea Point and Mouille Point Promenade all the way to the V&A Waterfront, or even into the Biodiversity Showcase Garden in Green Point. The Atlantic Seaboard is level and easy to cycle, so riders of all ages and fitness levels are able to make use of this wonderful activity.

The types of bicycles offered at Up Cycles

The main fleet of bicycles offered by Up Cycles is Dutch-style, single-speed, backpedal city bikes. Due to the upright posture and sprung saddles, they offer a comfortable ride for men and women of all sizes.

Up Cycles also offer basic mountain bikes with gears and v-brakes, aluminium road bikes and pedal-assist e-bikes for pre-booked half-day and full-day rides only.
