A brief history of the area
In 1929, the town of Sedgefield was officially established on the land known as the farm Sedgefield. The farm itself was named in 1894 after the village of the same name in the United Kingdom, in honor of the birthplace of the then farm owner's father, Henry Barrington.
Distance from key points
Sedgefield residents looking to reach George Airport can do so in 39 minutes (46,1 km) via the N2 and George is a 36-minute drive (38,7 km) via the N2 as well. Knysa is a 23-minute drive (24,8 km) via the N2.
