Flora Park is one of the popular suburbs within Polokwane. The street names that you will here are those of trees and plants, explaining the biological term "Flora". This is one of the more matured areas in Polokwane with bigger stands ranging from 1000 to 1200 sqm. This is the perfect area for families who want some yard space for their children to play in.

Schools and Education

There are some well-established schools within the Flora Park area. Primary Schools that you will find here are Flora Park Primary School and Flora Park Comprehensive Primary School, both which are public schools. High Schools are Flora Park Comprehensive High School, which is a public school and Curro Northern Academy High School, one of the popular private High Schools within Polokwane.

Estates and Developments

There are currently no estates in Flora Park, but you will find a number of residential complexes in the suburb. One of these is Die Koraal Retirement Village.

Shopping and Recreation

Flora Park offers a convenient and popular Shopping Centre centrally located in the area, which offers necessity shops, take away business and the Flora Park Spar. On the border of Flora Park you will meet Flora Park Dam. This is a great location for children to play in the park and also for skateboarders to bring their skateboard and learn some new tricks. Savannah Mall, one of the popular malls within Polokwane, is located just outside the Flora Park border. This mall was finished in 1997 and was a landmark when it opened for Polokwane. Shops housed in Savannah Mall include Checkers, Pick n Pay, Woolworths, Clicks, Dis-Chem and a banking hall.

Health and Fitness

There is one gym located in Flora Park. The Body Life Gym is very popular, also for people from other areas, and is centrally located in the suburb. The medical centre, Flora Med, is well known and has a few general medical practitioners and other services. The nearby Netcare Pholoso Hospital just outside Flora Park's borders is the newest private hospital in Polokwane.

Business and Work

Currently Flora Park is not a business area, but functions mostly as a residential area. You will find people running their own business from their homes. There is also a number of guesthouses located in Flora Park.
