A brief history of the area

There are two possible explanations for how Kenton On Sea got its name. According to one account, Captain Henry Somerset named the coastal town after the village of Kenton in England. Alternatively, some sources suggest that a man named Mr Tilt, who was born in 1867 and had previously lived in Kenton, England, purchased land in the area and named the resort after his former home.

The climate in Kenton On Sea is subtropical and Mediterranean with the warmest month of the year being February, which has an average maximum temperature of 27°C. The coldest month is July with an average maximum temperature of 22°C while November is the wettest month with 77 mm of rainfall.
