Also jot down Saturday, September 9th, 2023, from 9:30, for Winter Bingo that promises to be a delightful experience filled with fun and fundraising opportunities. Attendees will have the chance to win fantastic prizes with unique bingo cards provided free of charge. For those looking to increase their chances of winning, additional bingo cards can be purchased.

The Winter Bingo Tea Party will feature a silent auction where attendees can bid on a variety of items, making it an exciting opportunity to find unique treasures. To add an element of friendly competition, each table will act as its own host and decorate their space according to the event's theme. The best-decorated table will receive a special prize. Moreover, there will be prizes awarded to the best-dressed participants who embrace the theme. Spot prizes will also be distributed throughout the event, creating an atmosphere of anticipation and excitement.

To participate in this memorable occasion, you can purchase a table that seats eight people for R960 or buy individual tickets for R120 per person. Whether you come with a group of friends or are eager to meet new acquaintances, the Winter Bingo Tea Party at Huis Lettie Theron promises to be a joyous event for all.

Huis Lettie Theron has a track record of incredible fundraisers, with the recent Benevolent Food and Wine Auction held on May 5th being a shining example. The auction took place at the picturesque Hermanus Golf Course, attracting enthusiastic participants from the community. Thanks to their support, Huis Lettie Theron, along with the Senior Centre and SOFCA, received R97,000 each, enabling them to continue their valuable operations and services.

Looking ahead, there are many events to help Huis Lettie Theron realise their dreams. Take home an absolute bargain on October 4th. A Whatsapp Auction will take place offering an opportunity to bid on a wide array of items. From furniture, wines, and accommodation to delectable meats, artwork, and vouchers for dining, beauty, and more, there will be something for everyone. The Whatsapp Auction promises an exciting and convenient way to participate and secure unique treasures.

If you find yourself with extra loose change weighing down your wallet, keep an eye out for Huis Lettie Theron residents who will be shaking tins at various shopping centres from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm on October 7th. Your small contributions can make a big difference in supporting their cause.

As the year draws to a close, Huis Lettie Theron will present Christmas Gift Boxes on December 15th, offering carefully curated sets of delightful items. These gift boxes will make perfect presents for your loved ones, containing items such as rusks, biscuits, wines, sweets, coffee mugs, braai spice, bottle openers, nuts, and olive oil.

Huis Lettie Theron's invaluable services heavily rely on fundraising efforts to ensure their smooth operation and upkeep. They face ongoing challenges such as the need to spend approximately R85,000 per month on diesel for their generators, which keep important oxygen equipment running during load shedding.

Additionally, their Life Right Flats currently have a non-functional lift that requires an estimated R300,000 for repairs. This lift plays a crucial role in enabling residents to move freely within their daily lives. Huis Lettie Theron also aspires to install heat pumps for the cold winter months, as well as extend their Mental Care Unit, entrance hall, and administrative offices, an endeavour estimated to cost around R9 million.

To turn these building aspirations into a reality, Huis Lettie Theron will soon launch a Buy-a-Brick fundraiser, inviting the community to contribute by purchasing bricks for R50 each, allowing them to make a meaningful investment in their parents' future. Additionally, Huis Lettie Theron always welcomes donations of toiletries, Oros, board and card games, and appreciates any assistance reupholstering their Hamman Hall chairs.

In supporting Huis Lettie Theron's cause, Seeff Hermanus, a reputable real estate agency, has generously offered their tent, trailer, marketing stock and gazebo for future events. Their highly-recommended marketing agency, The Marketing Desk, is designing a new logo to energise Huis Lettie Theron's new vision. Assistance from local businesses, as well as that of our tight-knit community, ensures that Huis Lettie Theron can create memorable experiences while raising much-needed funds for their ongoing initiatives.

Join Huis Lettie Theron in their fundraising endeavours and be part of the compassionate support system that allows them to provide exceptional care for the elderly in our community. Together, we can make a difference and enhance the lives of those who have given so much to society.
