Should any members of your group not want to participate in the racing of go-karts, and they don't want to just sit and watch you from the sidelines, there are other things they could do to pass the time. The venue offers its guests a television that presents live entertainment such as sports games and table tennis is available for those wanting to stay active. There are also two snooker tables for you to challenge your friends should you be up for it.
As the venue is located on the lower level of Clearwater Mall, you will be able to grab a bite to eat at one of the many eateries on offer and even do some shopping once you're done.
Information on the track at Indy Kart Indoor Karting
The length of the 'u' shaped track is 220 metres with a total of four corners. The maximum speed on the track is 65 km per hour with the average lap time being around 20 seconds. The current lap time record is set at 18,741 seconds and you can check out their website for updates on this.
The surface used for the track is grip tar and a maximum of nine go-karts are allowed per race.
There is an age restriction of nine years old in order to take part in the racing with a height restriction as well of 1.4 metres.
The ins and outs of Indy Kart Indoor Karting
Indy Kart Indoor Karting is open to the public six days a week and does not accept cash payments, so be sure to take your bank card. You do not need to book, however, online bookings will take preference over walk-ins.
The track is closed on Mondays but is open on the following days and times:
- Tuesdays - 11:00 to 20:00
- Wednesdays - 11:00 to 20:00
- Thursdays - 11:00 to 20:00
- Fridays - 11:00 to 21:00
- Saturdays - 11:00 to 21:00
- Sundays - 11:00 to 18:00
Pricing starts from R130 per kart which includes eight minutes of track time and is roughly 25 laps. For 20 minutes which is approximately 50 laps, it is R250 per kart and for a one-hour endurance race, you will pay R750 per kart.
