At first they wanted to name Riviersonderend ‘Nuwedorp’(New Town), but the older residence wanted Rivier Zonder End from the Hesseque word: Kamma-kam-kanna (water, never ending water).

Being established in 1922 Riviersonderend has many unique properties. The most popular architectures are Cape Dutch and Victorian. The combination of the beautiful architectures and big stands makes these country properties very sought after in Southern Africa and the Overberg.
