Beautiful irrigation farm at the foot of Langeberg mountain - now available
The farm is currently run as dairy farm and has been in the same family for 99 years. The soil was tested and would also be suitable for citrus farming. There are various dams on the farm that gets filled through canals from the mountain. The last time the canal didn't flow, was in the early 70's. Water can also be pumped into the upper dam and then another 150 hectare can be under gravity fed irrigation. +/- 40 hectare is currently under drag line irrigation, approximately 25 hectare is lusern, the rest is kukuo and oats. Another 40 hectare established lusern on dry lands.
2x15 KW pumps are used for irrigation, there is also an extra 22 KW pump available if necessary. Various boreholes, but not currently in use, because enough water from canal rotation basis. Buildings include a four bedroom house, 9x18m enclosed steel store, 12x60m store - sides open, 1 bale store, 12 point milking parlor and various outbuildings. The farm is approximately 30km from Albertinia and 40km from Riversdale Citrus farming would also be ideal.
