Peter is from a fourth generation Nottingham Road farming family. He went to Hilton College whereafter he obtained a B. Agric Mngt degree from the University of Natal followed by two years of national service and two years of international travel. He is married to Kari and they have two daughters and a son.

After 20 years of working as an agricultural consultant with Lima Rural Development Foundation, where he now sits on the Board, Peter followed his passion into the real estate field. In 2001 he founded Meander Real Estates primarily as a result of seeing the potential of promoting and developing real estate in the area and to market the soon to be launched successful Gowrie Village Development in which he was a partner. He later was also a partner in the Gowrie Farm Golf and Flyfishing Estate development as well as being the developer of Oakbrook Estate.
Having grown up in Nottingham Road he has got extensive knowledge of the Natal midlands. He is also a farmer and has extensive knowledge of the agricultural sector and has served as Chairman of the Nottingham Road Landowners Association (NRLA). He is currently Chairman of the Oakbrook HOA and sits on the NRLA committee. He enjoys playing golf, squash, cycling, travelling and fishing in his spare time.
