A brief history of the area

Drummond was once inhabited by local tribes, whose culture and traditions were deeply ingrained. However, when Captain Percy J Kingham and his future wife, Elise, arrived in 1902, the indigenous population had already left the region. The Kinghams decided to establish their own farm, which began as a small operation selling produce to suppliers in Durban.

Over time, they expanded the farm and even opened a butchery to cater to the local farm workers' needs. As the population increased, the farm continued to grow, and even after Captain Kingham passed away, Elise proved herself to be a skilled businesswoman, taking charge of the expanding enterprise.
