The travelling time to Cape Town International Airport is approximately 1 hour, and 25 minutes (104, 7 km) away via the N2. The whale-watching town of Hermanus is a convenient 18-minute (9,1 km) drive away via the R43.

The weather in Onrus is fairly mild to moderate with breezy summers and cold winters. The climate is perfect for watersports and outdoor activities like cycling and running on the beach.

The Hemel en Aarde MTB Trail is a cycling trail in Hermanus that offers adventure seekers the thrill of mountain biking amongst beautiful scenery and a mix of terrains. Whether you're a beginner or a professional cycler, you'll find a trail to enjoy. There are convenient facilities along the way for visitors to make use of and cell reception is fairly good considering the trail lengths.
