The suburb of Wierda Park which is situated to the West of Centurion is one of the more established areas with beautiful gardens and plenty of trees. The suburb consists of approximately 2,781 houses and 429 townhouses. The suburb is popular with the middle class as it is very centrally situated in Centurion in terms of accessibility with the Reds Mall being just around the corner. The suburb is bordered by the Penquin Crescent (Eldoraigne) to the North, Raslouw and Celtisdal to the West, Boekenhout Street and Piet Hugo Street (Eldoraigne) to the East and Senekal Street (Rooihuiskraal North) to the South.

Due to the fact that Wierda Park is one of the older suburbs in Centurion, most of the properties have large well established wooded gardens. Residents prefer Wierda Park for its convenient location, variety of dwellings, tranquil environment and the fact that there is very little building activity in the area. Shopping Centres in the immediate vicinity include the Reds Mall, Lifestyle Centre, Centurion Mall, Sutherland shopping Centre, Koedoe Arcade and Wierda Two Centre. The area also has a number of smaller shopping centres with the usual cafes and convenience stores.

Sports facilities in Wierda Park include karate, dancing, badminton, wrestling, pigeon racing, athletics and tennis whilst the neighbouring suburbs of Rooihuiskraal North, Eldoraigne and Rooihuiskraal offer many other sports facilities.

Wierda Park is central to a number of schools including Rooihuiskraal Primary, Uitsig High, Eldoraigne High, Zwartkop High, Bakenkop Primary, Hennopspark Primary, Springvale Primary, Cresta College, Montessori, Sutherland High and Wierda Park Primary. There are also thirty Nursery Schools and crèches in Wierda Park.

Being an older established suburb, Wierda Park has a total of six parks and public places. The closest Post Office is the Wierda Park Post Office on the corner of Willem Botha Street and Ruimte Road. The nearest library is situated in Eldoraigne on Ireland Avenue. The only Guesthouses are the Pilgrims Delight Guesthouse and Mahanya B&B, although Eldoraigne also has thirteen Guesthouses. Wierda Park also has two Nurseries situated in Ruimte Road and lloys Street.

Churches in the area include Baptist, Gereformeerde, NG, AGS, Christ is the way, New Life, Methodist, Apostolic, etc. The Bakenkop Medical Centre is located in Theuns van Niekerk Street, Wierda Park Day Clinic is situated in Kudu Street, whilst the Unitas hospital is about 6km from Wierda Park and Eldoraigne has two medical Centres. The Provincial clinic is situated in Eldoraigne.

Wierda Park also offers easy access to the N1 and N14, for commuters travelling by car to either Pretoria, Midrand, Kempton Park, Johannesburg, Krugersdorp, OR Tambo International Airport as well as Lanseria Airport.

The closest police station is the Wierda Bridge Police Station situated in Valhalla.
