Eldo Glen at a glance

Eldoglen Estate was proclaimed in 1998. The Estate was developed in four phases, and it now completely sold out. It provides a tranquil setting on an old farm in the North of Centurion, yet has easy access to all facilities. The Estate consists of approximately 394 Townhouses and 405 houses. The Estate is popular as it is very centrally situated with easy access to Centurion, Pretoria, Midrand and Johannesburg. The Estate consists of free standing freehold stands as well as sectional title units. The freehold stands range in size from 700 sm to 1,400 sm. The price of houses ranges from R1,600,000 to R6,500,000. Average of R2,768,660 (2012) and townhouses from R530,000 to R2,300,000 Average of R1,700,000 (2012). The Estate has three entrances, two which are open 24 hours a day and the third only 12 hours per day. Security is top notch with the Estate surrounded by a brick wall and an electric fence with approximately thirty guards on duty at any given time. The Estate is approximately 90ha in extent. Most of the stands are north facing with a view towards the Zwartkop Nature Reserve. Due to the fact that the Estate is well established, it boasts a lot of natural vegetation and established trees. The Estate has 5 parks, 3 swimming pools, 2 tennis courts, 1 squash court, 1 basketball court, a cricket oval, a lapa and a clubhouse. Residents are also provided with their own post boxes. A large Indian community has moved from Laudium to the Estate.

The Estate is bordered to the North by Wierda Road (M10), Willem Botha Street to the East, Eldoraigne Ext 28 to the South and Raslouw to the West.

Close to Eldoglen are the Sunderland Ridge Industrial Park as well as the Head Office of Mercedes Benz and the Bondev Business Park. The area has a number of smaller shopping malls in the immediate vicinity which include Eldo Village, The Shoprite Centre (Wierda Park), The Mall @ Reds and the Checkers Shopping Centre in Rooihuiskraal. A new shopping complex is in the process of being built adjacent to the Estate. On the busier roads such as Saxby Ave and Willem Botha many of the homes have been converted into business properties housing Legal practices, Estate agencies, Vets, IT training organizations and a plethora of small businesses.

The area is blessed with excellent schools such as Bakenkop Laer, Laudium Secondary, Eldoraigne Hoër, Sutherland High as well as many primary schools in surrounding areas of Valhalla, Hennopspark and Wierda Park. In the heart of Eldoraigne you will find sports clubs which offers tennis, gymnastics, wrestling and martial arts. Adjacent to these facilities is the Eldoraigne Public Library. Within a 4-5km radius of Eldoglen is the world class Unitas hospital, and the Eldoraigne Medicross clinic is situated on the corner of Saxby Avenue and Frederik Road. A number of Nurseries are also located in the area.

Eldoglen also lies close to major highways offering easy access to commuters travelling to either Pretoria or Johannesburg, via the Ben Schoeman Highway (N14) or the Old Johannesburg Road (R101), whilst Krugersdorp is also easily accessible via the N14. A new off ramp on the northbound lane of the N14 has recently been completed. Therefore its residents are within easy reach of Gauteng’s attractions and amenities. The Centurion Gautrain Station is within 6km of Eldoglen.

The following Churches can be found in the area: Eldoraigne NG Familie Kerk, NG Kerk Wierda Park and Nederduitse Hervormde Kerk. A number of Mosques are also found in the surrounding area. There are two Retirement Homes in Eldoraigne namely Kiepersol and Lions Haven. The Bondev conference and wedding centre is located in Wierda Road, and many guest houses such as Beulah Oasis, Ngena, La Gratitude, Thatch Haven, Durham, Shemariah, Aandbloem, De Oude Herberg and Agami are located in the area.

In Wierda Road is the Hennops River Nature Reserve and caravan park. To the North of Eldoglen are the Zwartkops Raceway and the Zwartkops Nature Reserve. The closest Police station is Wierda Bridge, situated in Valhalla, whilst the Post Office is in Wierda Park. A PostNet is located in the Eldoraigne Village Shopping Centre.
