Eco Park Estate at a glance

Eco Park Estate was established in 2004. The Estate currently has three entrances of which two are for residents and one for contractors. The Estate has excellent perimeter security as well as 24 hour security at the main gates. Each sectional title complex within the Estate has its own electric fence and 24 hour guard. The Estate boasts a network of several beautiful complexes ranging from two and three bedroom simplexes, stack simplexes and duplexes. All homes are sectional title and building is now complete in the Estate. There are sixteen complexes in the estate. They are Crystal Springs, Clearwater, Crystal Rest, Silver Creek, River Edge, Emerald Close, Ruby Court, Sapphire, Amber Hill, Onyx, Moonstone, Rosemary, Woodpecker, Maple, Millstream and Glenwood. The Estate is a fairly new middle income area in Centurion and was developed on land that originally belonged to Armscor, now Denel in 1995. The Estate also has Clubhouse facilities, tennis court, squash courts, swimming pools, braai areas, venue hall with a kitchen and cloakrooms as well as a sand pit and play areas for children. The Estate currently consists of 1,800 sectional title units. The Estate covers an area of approximately 240ha. This is a popular Estate and is centrally situated to the Eco Boulevard shopping centre, Virgin Active gym, Eco Décor Centre and the Centurion Mall with over 200 shops and restaurants, conference centres, secure parking and entertainment which is the hub of the area. The price of sectional title townhouses ranges from R520,000 to R1,500,000 (2012).

Investment property in the Estate is very sought after as the return is exceptional as there is a big demand for rental property in the Estate. Both Telkom SA head office and SAPO are within 2km of the Estate.

The suburb is bordered by the N1 (Danie Joubert Freeway) to the North and West, Highveld to the East and Nelmapius Drive (M31) to the South. The arterial Roads provide easy access to the Highways leading to Johannesburg, Midrand, Krugersdorp, Pretoria, OR Tambo International Airport as well as Lanseria Airport.

The suburb of Highveld which lies directly to the East of Eco Park Estate has its own bird sanctuary (Luton Valley Bird sanctuary) situated on the corner of John Vorster Drive and Nellmapius Drive. Bordering the Eco Park Estate are the Highveld Techno Park and the Eco Park Lifestyle centre. Directly across Nelmapius Drive the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) owns a large tract of farming land that many people access for biking or walking.

Within 2km of the Estate is the popular Irene Lodge as well as the Irene Dairy farm with its two restaurants and deli which is well known for its sale of fresh milk and cream set in a rural atmosphere. The Irene market is held every second and fourth Saturday of each month within the grounds of the old Jan Smuts farm. Shopping Malls in the immediate vicinity include the Centurion mall (2km), Southdown’s Mall (3km), Eco Park Mall (500m) as well as Irene Village Mall (9km)

Supersport cricket stadium is 2km over the N1 highway, and the local Makro and Sportsman’s warehouse is just over the John Vorster Drive (2km). There is also easy access to the Centurion Golf and Country Club as well as the Irene Country Club that offers all sporting facilities. The area boasts two Virgin Active gyms as well as a Planet fitness gym and a Golf Driving range. Schools in the area include Southdown’s College (2km), as well as two nursery Schools and a crèche. A selection of Afrikaans and English schools can be found in the surrounding suburbs such as Doringkloof, Lyttelton, Rooihuiskraal and The Reeds, all within a 5 km radius of the Estate. There are also a number of Churches in the immediate vicinity.

The Unitas hospital is about 10km away, the Southdown’s medical Centre about 2km and the Highveld Medical Centre is situated in Highveld. The closest police station is Lyttelton Police station situated in Basden Street. Highveld also has a vet practice. The Gautrain station in West Street is approximately 3km from the Estate, so it will offer a speedy alternative to commuters who do not wish to travel by car.
