A brief history of the area 

Rooted in Dutch influences, the valley of Constantia is over 150 years old. With the farming of vineyards, olive and fruit trees beginning from as early as the 1600s, the area was primed to be an agricultural investment for the province. 

Simon van der Stel was the Governor of the Cape in 1685. He also founded one of the oldest wine estates, Groot Constantia. Some of the most notable, vintage wine estates in the area include Constantia Uitsig, Steenberg, Klein Constantia and more.

Cape Town International Airport is approximately 29 minutes (27,3 km away) via the N2 and M3. The distance to Cape Town's CBD is 22 minutes (918,3 km) away via the M3.

The weather in Constantia is suitable for many outdoor activities in the warmer, summer months with temperatures averaging 27°C. Winter months tend to be cool with temperatures ranging between 11°C-27°C. The climate is semi-arid and rainfall is uncommon.
