Passion keeps me going, real estate services to me is not a job - it's a genuine love of what I do that keeps me smiling, laughing and building strong relationships with my clients. I have this burning passion within me that wants to serve my clients with uncompromising professionalism. Every day when I wake up, the first thing that comes to my mind is that "There's a client out there that wants to buy a dream home and there's also a client that wants to sell his/her property and is looking for an expert agent to manage and facilitate the listing of that valuable asset on his/her behalf". Inexperienced agents cannot keep up.
My journey in the property industry actually started in March 2008 when I joined ABSA Home loans. Back then it started as a job because I graduated from a one-year leadership program offered by Lestema (National Certificate: Banking Service Advice). Back then a lot of bond applications were assessed manually, so I would need to pick up boxes from one floor to another i.e Data capturing clerk to Affordability/credit assessor in another floor then back to property valuation specialist and finally to bond approval Officer. That on its own gave me an exposure to different hands that touches a bond application. After a year I then became a Bond Approval Officer. How this knowledge plays a part currently - is the ability to vividly explain the process to every potential buyer on the bond application leading up to approval.
That's not all in 2014 I decided to enroll for National Diploma in Real Estate (NQF 6), while I was working as a Specialist Home Loans Consultant for ABSA. The qualification contributed to my knowledge to better understand Principles of Property Law, Law of Property Valuation, Building Regulations and other property related insights. It was during this period when I started to assist clients and Estate Agents in the Industry, many of them are in the greater Cape Flats on the importance of knowing what is expected when submitting a bond application. I used to take them through the process then on how they can effectively assist clients, what documents are required by the banks to avoid application delay. This day we have "Pre-qualification process" where we pre-qualify clients before shopping for a house because without knowing how much you can qualify for - one may be disappointed in the end.
