Thabazimbi Property
- Limpopo
Rugged mountains bordering an unspoilt bush–covered plain are the settings for this Bushveld town.
Thabazimbi, meaning "mountain of iron" is the Tswana name for this peaceful, prosperous town and refers to the highly lucrative iron ore lode, first discovered here in 1919 and mined since the 1930’s when iron and steel production started. The town was proclaimed in 1953.
KUMBA (Thabazimbi’s Iron Ore Mine) supplies most of their iron to MITTA Steelworks in V/d Bijl Park and Newcastle. The red soil indicates the enormous amount of iron it holds.
The Thabazimbi area is also a good farming country, especially game farming. Eco-tourism and controlled hunting are equally important and the region is fast becoming a preferred eco-tourism destination.
The Thabazimbi Bushveld is truly a nature lover’s paradise. There is a certain uniqueness about the area... Undiscovered, unspoilt, and booming with possibilities.
Activities range from: hiking trails, 4x4 routes, bird watching, horse riding, golf, fishing, game viewing, archaeological tours, beautiful sunsets, enjoying the atmosphere of a Bushveld campfire..
The Thabazimbi Bushveld is a well known hunting mecca with a high concentration of hunting farms in the area and ample hunting opportunities to be enjoyed by both local and international hunters.
Species that are hunted include various antelope, carnivores as well as game birds.
Thabazimbi offers bow, rifle and handgun hunting which takes place throughout the year. However due to the summer heat and rains, the most popular period is during the cooler winter months from April to August.
Accommodation facilities in the Thabazimbi area provide a wonderful base from which to explore this fascinating region. From B&B’S, rustic bushveld camps to luxury lodges,
Seeff Properties Thabazimbi can cater for your every need, local and foreign.
